  Why I Refuse to Accept the term APOSTATE

  been going back in forth with my mom (who is a longtime pioneer and dyed-in-the-wool jw) about the term apostate.

  she has labeled me one because of my fading and because i stopped attending meetings a few years ago.

  i told her that i refuse to accept the term apostate because its a lazy way for the wts to not deal with dissenters and address why people are leaving this organization in droves.

I told her that I refuse to accept the term apostate because its a LAZY WAY for the WTS to not deal with dissenters and address WHY people are leaving this organization in droves.

  There's no effort made to see whether it's been WTS policies, lunacy, that are responsible for people turning "apostate." But no, because you leave and have moved on from it, their responsible is to embrace the philosophy of a 4-year old and resort to name calling. And its all so LAZY!!!

  Sleep Paralysis - YOUR EXPERIENCES

  so what have been your experiences with sleep paralysis?

  any connection to astral projection?

  this has interested me recently as i used to have sleep paralysis quite often years ago.

  Yeah, I think it was stress related. I've been working long hours recently and have been exhausted. When I was in the JW's, I used to think that it was a demonic attack. I even remember having a sleep paralysis episode when I was at Bethel, which freaked me out at the time because I thought how could the DEMONS be getting to me at Bethel??!!

  I've since learned that there are more clinical reasons for it and years ago learned to wake myself up or "control" elements of the dream that I was having. A friend of mine recently told me that sleep paralysis is the beginning of being able to do astral projection, which is probably a different conversation altogether. I may look more into that for sure!

  If I was still in the ORG, I'd be MAD AS HELL (like any JW old-timer would be) about that 10 Hour Basic Pioneer Level.

  And this is coming from someone who used to bust his ass trying to get 90 hours a month when I was a dyed-in-the-wool dub!

  BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?

  i often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.

  while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

  a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

  while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).

  a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

  ignoranceisbliss: I was in the same circuit as northeast. Did you go there? I remember when Ray Lockhart (who later went to head up the Bethel art department) was there along with James Bates (who was mad-cool), Richard Spreng, and a few others. And yes, I remember when all that went down with Danny and Eleanor. I always liked her. Danny could be a major prick!

  Danny's father Frank was at WTFarms and was a great guy. Very down-to-earth. He got disfellowshipped and left the WTFarms after his wife died. Don't know where he ended up. He had another son who I think settled in the Jersey area?

  Anybody remember Danny DeMatteis? And his wife Eleanor? They were originally from Detroit.

  Anyone remember Charles Banks? He was in cleaning in Brooklyn, but I think I ended up at the Farms or Patterson. Anyone remember Jared Lopes? He is a waiter who I believe is still there.
